Shots from a Train window..

This year most of my travel to kerala were by train. I am posting some of the photos that I took during my train travel.

This photo was taken at around 5.00am in the early morning somewhere near Trichur, the day was just breaking and the blueish sky was really like a maestro's painting in the vast sky. After around 20 minutes the sky looked something like below. Amazing isn't it?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This picture was taken when the train was passing thru a station at its top speed. The effect was as if the sky, the station lights, the platform and the waiting passengers being pulled away from me in the opposite direction.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Somewhere near Ernakulam Junction railway station, the train was was waiting for getting signal. Lot of crows came near the compartments and were looking as if asking for something to eat from the passengers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changing track......
-------------------------------------------------------
Wild grass near the railway tracks at Ernakulam station. I liked these wet green grasses which were swinging against the wind of the passing train.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A small, lonely, station..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was standing near the door and suddenly I shot the above train that was approaching very fast. The below picture i the train passing by my side. "Gone in sixty seconds".

Periyar

This picture was taken on my visit to Kalady, This is river periyar. Kalady is the birth place of Adi Shankracharya. Among the many miraculous happenings associated with Shankaracharya's life is one when he is believed to have diverted the course of this river, then flowing one and a half kilometers away from the house, for his aged mother who could have her daily bath in the river without walking a long way. Even today one can see the river has taken an uncharacteristic turn towards the Sringeri Math shrine, believed to be the site of Sankara, sumitha house.
